About Akshatha Rao Prakash
Counselling Psychologist & Dance Movement Therapy Practitioner
A Journey Rooted in Curiosity & Empathy
My journey into psychology began with a natural curiosity about human behaviour. Long before I formally studied psychology, I found myself wondering why people behaved the way they did and looking at situations from different perspectives before arriving at an understanding.
For me, therapy is a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment or inhibition. It offers an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply, develop coping skills and build resilience to navigate the challenges that life inevitably brings.
The Rhythm of Somatic Healing
"I bring my training in Dance Movement Therapy into my psychotherapy practice, using the body and somatic movement where it can meaningfully support non-verbal emotional release."
Therapeutic Philosophy & Eclectic Care
As a therapist, I place strong importance on creating a safe and comfortable space where people can gradually open up. I bring empathy, flexibility and a client-centred approach to my work, adapting the therapeutic process to what is most helpful for the person in front of me.
My approach is eclectic, drawing from different therapeutic perspectives rather than making every client fit into one fixed model. I also bring my training in Dance Movement Therapy into my psychotherapy practice, using the body and movement where it can meaningfully support the therapeutic process.

A Moment of Resilience — Beyond the Therapist
A Moment of Resilience is more than the name of my practice; it represents a personal dream and a reminder that it is never too late to begin something you have always wanted to pursue. It reflects the belief that there is no single timeline for starting over, taking a new direction or building something from the ground up.
Beyond the therapist, I am someone who loves travelling, meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I enjoy reading and going for walks, and I am a Bharatanatyam dancer who continues to practise whenever possible.
Sessions offered fluently in English, Kannada, Hindi, and Telugu. Serving clients across Bengaluru offline and internationally online.
